For Term 4 we’ve been learning to make our own stop motion animation in a group of two or three.

It was about moving characters and making an animation by moving joints and taking a photo of each frame to make it look like the character was moving by itself to give the animation look good. We had to use plasticene for our characters being used for our animation and make a background of the scenery of the animation.

The groups were made, and I was in a group of three with some of my friends. the animation we planned of making was two friends playing soccer and one gets injured and the other scoring a goal but realising his friend was injured and saying sorry, but it was too late for his friend. The character’s names were Jeffrey (the guy who scores the goal) And Thomas (the guy who dies) and then the referee and goalkeeper which were a part of the animation Aswell.

`Right now, I am trying to film the animation and get it done but still haven’t finished it.

In my holidays, I had to go back to my country since my grandpa didn’t make it. I had to go to his funeral when I got back to my country. I met my cousins’ friends after a long time. I got to eat food from Sri Lanka that I used to eat when I was really young but that was the last time could because I had to go back to Australia. And when I got back to Australia I had to stay home all alone because my parents had to go to work. and at the weekends of the last week of the holidays I got sick and suffered all day. I got as much medicine I could, but I never was feeling well. On Sunday I didn’t feel any better and it just got worse. I didn’t feel like going to school but my parents forced me to go so I had no other option and had to go to school.

I first got my supplies which was card board and put for my design beer caps as the eyes and the egg box for the head. and I was looking for the legs and found a bag full of tiny cylinders, which I gave legs for and used another egg box for the body do I could. And I did label my design and took care of it in a bag responsibly. I managed to complete my dragon. But my tail fell off so I had to make another tail or it would look bad. After I’ve done that my wings started falling so I had to replace them with new ones and finished my dragon and then took photos and published it to OneDrive.

The book Dragon skin is about a family with issues and the main character as a little girl named Pip. Pip is in a family with his mom and her dad called Matt. Pip apparently has a dragon with her, and nobody ever noticed about. Matt is an abusive father towards Pip. Her dragon is a diamond to Pip; she feeds it and take cares it while nobody else knows. and her mom is currently going through stressful things with matt. She is hopeless and feels guilty to what she has done.

All I know so far is that this story is pretty interesting and has real drama. I like the book, and I would love to continue reading it more.

On Friday last week, our school had the Faction Carnival. Each faction had athletics challenges to beat. First, we had flags. We got second behind team yellow. After that, we had a game I’ve never played before, it was about running around poles then giving a chicken toy the next person. luckily, we got first place.

Then we had relays, I slipped but managed to catch along with the other members from the other factions. We lost at third place I believe and went to recess. I ate and got ready for the next games. We had tug of war. I used a strategy with my teammates which was to try hard and pull at the same time in count of three. that strategy worked out well and we won the round. The next game was pass ball. I passed as fast as I could and the captain ran and got first place that round, and next round we got third. Then I had a brake and got ready for the next game. We played leader ball I caught and ran for it, and we lost at last place. and then we had hurdles, we all ran and jump and got first in total of rounds. last games were 100-meter runs. I ran and got 4th place and in total wins we lost. and at the end of the day all points were counted and we got 4th plays losing horribly.

 

Story starter 1: The thief was next to the door while Sam in the other side of the room scared. his older brother that was supposed to take care of him, went to a party and is coming back midnight. the thief broke the door and ended Sam.

Story Starter 2: She was walking toward the door not knowing what coming. She opened the door and saw every staff member with ballons and a cake with lots of confetti. Everybody screamed “HAPPY BIRTHDAY!”

Story Starter 3: An employee was walking to her manager’s room. Soon as she opened the door, she knew she was done for. The manager with a mad face fired her for not serving customers and at the end she was jobless.

This week we have been learning about angles and measuring them. We went outside of our class and started to measure stuff we’ve saw. But before that we made a cinerator of a long thin stick and wrapped paper taped onto the stick. We first measure a footy goalpost. After we measured the goalpost, it came up to be 45 degrees from measuring 6 metres away, and it was 6 metres tall. After the goalpost we went to the basketball court, and we saw a netball post, which we also measured and came up to be 40 degrees from 5 metres away and was nearly 4 metres tall. then we measured a crate from 5 metres away and was 30 degrees and was 3 metres tall. last but not least a tree that we measured from 5 metres away and came up to be 30 degrees which was 10 metres tall.

For the Indonesian spice me and my friend decided to learn about Galangal.

Galangal is a spice that grows in west java and more other places of Indonesia. Galangal Tastes like a mix of sharp and citrusy and by the name it tastes spicy as well. Galangal is used for Indonesian dishes like Spicy chicken with lemongrass and lime, Sayur lodeh and Thai hot and chicken soup. Other uses of galangal for medicine are used for antibacterial properties, antioxidant, cancer prevention, prevent common cold, fights inflammation, Recovers joint illnesses and immunity booster.

This week for spelling we learnt Greek prefixes like poly and ortho. Poly means many/much in Greek.

Story Starters:

1. I thought I was going to get another strike in the next bowl, but the batter hit it as the ball sped at my face fracturing my bone ending me in the hospital.
2. I gave a candy to a man and a waif makes contact with the man as he steals the chocolate and runs away.

Yesterday, our class went to the car park and took photos of shapes with rotational symmetry, such as car tires and sometimes logos like the Mitsubishi logo and the Mercedes logo that has rotational symmetry. Rotational symmetry happens when and object repeats its image when turned 360 degrees around a central point. But the object doesn’t have rotational symmetry if it only shows the same picture after a full turn.
